A player should always bear in mind that they cannot win with a 17 unless a dealer busts. Player’s who forget this and stand on soft 17s, are simply giving their money away.

If the option is available, a player must double against all dealer stiff cards with the exception of the 2, since this card is a strong starting total for the house.
