Back playing
In the event of tables being overcrowded,
some casinos allow players standing behind the seated
players to place bets in the same box.
This can only be done with the seated
players permission and the player to the rear of them
must abide by any playing decision the seated player
makes.
However if the seated player is offered
the opportunity to split or double- down the “outside”
player may choose to join them in the bet or stand with
the cards they have.
Obviously this is not an issue with an online casino,
where thousands of people could be connected to the
same gaming server at any one time.
