Exposed Hole Card
"Double exposure" was introduced
by Bob Stupaks Vegas World Casino in Las Vegas and can
still be found in varying forms today.
Double exposure is another blackjack
variation where the rules are the same as blackjack
except that both dealer cards are exposed in the initial
round of dealing.
To compensate for this, there are some
restrictive rule variations, the four most common of
which are:
- After the dealer’s hole card has been dealt
face up no soft doubling is allowed.
- The dealer wins on all ties, except on a natural
blackjack
- Blackjack pays only even money
- Player may split once only.
These are not fixed rules and may vary
from casino to casino to include the following:
- Tied blackjacks are either a push or go to the player
- A Blackjack consisting of the Ace of Spades pays
double, as does arriving at 21 with a 6,7 and 8 all
of the same suit.
- Straight Blackjacks pay only even money.
- Player may double on any first two cards or not
- Player may or may not double after a split
- Player may split more than once
