Luck and chance
The only true gamblers are those that are too lazy
to learn how to win for themselves by playing in accordance
with mathematically proven odds.
The players misunderstanding of the difference between
luck and chance is the reason why casinos grow steadily
fatter. Of course, Blackjack is a game of chance since
luck is an essential factor. Another factor (undoubtedly
the biggest and most overlooked) is skill, and when
this is thrown into the equation, it is possible to
remove the gambling aspect from Blackjack entirely.
Just because a player uses the correct MBS does not
mean they will win: it simply means that success is
highly probable.
That a run of bad luck will suddenly change is a myth.
If a coin is flipped 99 times and lands heads-up every
time, the chance of it landing tails-up on the 100th
toss is not governed by it’s history. The odds
remain 1 in 2. Only if the odds are with a player will
their bad luck eventually turn to good.
Lawrence Revere, creator of the complex advanced point-counting
method, always maintained that a good Blackjack player
never guesses, they know. Luck is a fallacy, invented
and espoused by those too lazy to search for the wood
beyond the trees. Luck is fictitious. Computer based
research is factual. When a player remembers this, financial
success will be the reward of their Blackjack playing
for the rest of their life.
