Mid-shoe entry

It is relatively easy for a player to enter a game after the shoe has begun. Usually it is a simple matter of merely finding a free place to sit.

However, an increasing number of casinos now insist that a player may enter the game only after the dealer has shuffled the cards. This means that if a player should choose to sit out of a hand, hey may not be permitted to re-enter until the next shuffle has taken place.

It is believed by pit bosses and casino managers that these measures prove effective in discouraging counters to play at their tables. Many veteran players insist that this practice is unfair.

With an online casino, you can join and leave a game as often or as infrequently as you wish. It makes no difference, since the cards are normally shuffled after every hand anyway.
