Shuffle & burn

At the start of the game, the cards are shuffled either by hand or by a shuffling machine, and then placed in the “shoe”. This is a dealing device from which the dealer delivers the cards to the players and himself in the order required. Normally the first card to be dealt from the shoe is “burned” and placed directly into the discard tray.

Although the playing area can accommodate up to six further players each of these must wait to compete individually against the dealer.

You can play at whatever pace you like, start and stop as often as you wish to and end the game at any time. There is no burn, since the cards are normally shuffled after every hand.
